I spent a good chunk of yesterday harvesting beetroot and peas. I am really disappointed with the beetroot crop this year- the ones that have grown are small and some haven't even developed at all. I think it is due to the lack of sun. It's the same with the tomatoes; I think I have picked about a dozen if that. However, I have had plenty of success with the peas. From two tubs I managed to get a cereal bowl and a half full from them. I am going to plant some winter hardy ones for next Spring- It's quite addictive this grow your own thing! Here are some photos from this years harvest, the onions are from earlier in the year and I am very pleased with those.
I have finally got back to Etsy and re opened my shop, up to now I have listed two new items this month, this music set-
which you can find here- https://www.etsy.com/listing/108418058/music-lover-bracelet-and-necklace-with?ref=pr_shop

I love the bracelet, it is so delicate and feminine. Your harvest doesn't look too bad really. I managed to get a few large beetroots but that may have been beginners luck!
ReplyDeleteLove the bracelet and fresh peas, trouble is most would not reach the pot best eaten out of the pod
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is gorgeous. Love it. You're right about growing your own its very addictive. Not dome any for a year or two so must get back to that! The peas look delicious and well done with the inions!
ReplyDeleteI like the pink bracelet too, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is lovely. You're right, growing your own is addictive - I've had a bad summer on that front though as suddenly the slug population has grown in my garden and they feasted on my seedlings. I think suddenly having more slugs is something to do with two new cats next door who like to chase and eat the frogs in my garden (it's the frogs who normally keep the slugs in check).
ReplyDeleteGlad you're out of hospital! Enjoy the rest of the "summer"! I love this time of year, not too hot, not too cold with the added bonus of kids being back at school so everywhere is quieter!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your veg crop has done really well this year! x
You've done far better than me with the veg! I've had a handful of potatoes. My tomatoes are making a sudden dash - but alas i fear it's too little too late!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a lover of autumn either :0( But what better time to hunker down to make some crafty work! Your bracelet is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is gorgeous. What a great veg harvest you've
ReplyDeletehad. Have a lovely week. Ali x
