Poppies and Onions

I can see a little bit of sun! There is a lot of cloud still but, now and again, the clouds part and I'm reminded it is actually Summer. This year I have planted some red poppies in the hope they will self seed all over the garden. I love poppies, they are one of my favourite flowers and I love how they seem to grow in the most unlikely places( we have some growing in the driveway against the side of the house)

This picture was a week or two ago.

And now. I really love how bright they are and there are still loads to open.

I haven't done much listing this week, I think its because I know I am having to shut my shop for the next week or so (from Thursday so buy now! hehe)

I have also had a play with glass a few weeks ago, I don't think I have blogged about it ( mind like a sieve) so thought I would share. I used frit to make the shape of pansies (at least they are supposed to look like pansies, they are a bit wonkey.) It was also the first time I used fusable paper as I thought leaves may be a bit tricky using frit, plus I don't have any green.I think it has turned out well but I managed to break my slumping mold and I have only used it twice- rarrrrrrrrrrah!

I hope everyone is having a great Handmade Monday!

Facebook

Well I have taken the plunge and signed up to Facebook ( I'm here if you wish to add me and read my very vapid updates- http://www.facebook.com/little.harriet ) I thought it would be a good way to promote my shop, I have seen a tiny increase in my views but since I only have 9 friends (mainly family and friends) I can't expect miracles!

I have been very much lacking in the blog department, there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment. I will, soon, sit down and write a decent post!

Kindle

It's Handmade Monday again, Number 74 already! I don't know why the weeks are going so fast; it's a bit scary.

I find it funny (though I shouldn't really) that one of my favourite things to make is bookmarks yet, this past 6 months or so, the new books I have treated myself to have been on the Kindle. I guess it doesn't make good business sense at all and I doubt Alan Sugar will be worrying any time soon but I tend to make things that take my fancy. Perhaps I should do more research, have a look what is 'in' before I pick up my craft tools but I am ruled by my heart rather than my head... maybe I need to change.
Talking about the Kindle.. I have just read the Fifty Shades trilogy to see what all the fuss was about... good grief it was a bit rude! I kept blushing when I was reading it on the train! Very addictive though hehe.

Here are my new makes for the week.
