Going Girly

Happy Handmade Monday!

I hope the start to your week has been a good one.

Last week my friend visited and I had a very busy few days which has meant my craftyness has had to be put on the back burner. I have missed it! However I did manage to make a necklace for my sister last night which she requested to for a wedding she is going to this weekend. She was pleased with it so that was a result!

Talking about accessories - I have found, this past few months, I am turning into a bit of a girly girl. I've been wearing makeup and am actually accesorising  my outfits! And not just for nights out or "need to look like I haven't just gotten out of bed" type situations. Me! The scruffiest person in the world ever! And, after my confidence took a bit of a battering before Christmas, it feels really, really good! It's funny what a bit of red lipstick and a yellow necklace can do to your self esteem.

I have managed to list a few items on my shop in between trips to the pub and bowling (I was ace at bowling to my surprise!)

 The photos are links :)

I don't know why that last picture is so huge!

Have a great week every one!

A Sale!

It's HandMade Monday time, just where are these weeks flying to? It's finally getting a bit warmer and I spent a little part of this morning planting yet more seeds. I'm in bed now tho, my chest has decided to throw a strop so I am having a relax and what better place to chill than my comfy bed.

You can tell it is Spring when you hear the blackbirds singing and I managed to take a picture of our entertainer. I can hear him singing now and it is making me feel a lot more cheerful, I think the long, lighter days are helping too.

I sold one of my glass pendants yesterday, I'm well chuffed! I have a few more to list next week and a couple more to drill holes in, hopefully they will be popular.

I have listed 4 more things on my Etsy shop, I am slowly and steadily restocking again :) The photos are links to my shop, I think my favorite is the pink ribbon elephant set.

Hello!

First up a big hello to my new followers! It always makes me really happy when I get more people reading my blog, I hope you find it a little bit entertaining!

I have spent the afternoon in my greenhouse filling plant pots with compost and sewing beetroot, carrots and peas. I am determined that this year will be a better veg crop than last year (hopefully the weather will cooperate!)  It's still not warm but the freezing cold of the last few months has gone (until next Winter I hope)   but it was getting dark and Doctor Who was starting so here I am on my laptop!

Here is a treasury that I made for Lynwoodcrafts who is this weeks Craftyfolk shop of the week.

Is it Spring Yet?

Happy Easter! It's a deceptively sunny day here, the light is streaming through the window (or it was, the cloud has just come over as I type- typical) and it looks like it could actually be warm . Nope, it's still very cold with quite a breeze blowing. Come on Spring! I'm going to be optimistic and say that it's just around the corner.I can't wait to get back out into the garden again without dressing like I'm taking a trip to the arctic.

I've been keeping myself busy crocheting a baby blanket (nope, nothing to declare!) which is for someone to give to someone else. I am doing it as a favour as I really do enjoy it and am having the cost  of wool covered. I have sooo much left to do!

Look at all those ends that need sewing in! ugh! I think that is the worst job. Still, it's fun and is keeping me warm at any rate!

I've been listing again on Etsy, including one of the glass pendants I showed last week. Hopefully I will list two more during this week. The photos are links to my shop :)

I hope everyone is having a great Easter and, of course, Handmade Monday!

Drilling Glass Takes Forever!

Woo! I think this is the first Handmade Monday that I have taken part in for months. It feels really good to be back, I have missed getting involved with things.

Firstly, my Etsy shop is back up and running. I am slowly relisting things again. The photos are links to my shop

I have also been making glass pendants. My first lot turned out well and I glued some bails onto the back. While this did work for most of them, some of the bails could be pulled off... not something I am wiling to risk selling yet until I am 100% sure they are going to stay on. Plus my gluing technique isn't the best and some of the pendants look quite messy on the back.. I need more practice. I've been using 2 parts epoxy and think I was rushing as it sets fairly quickly...yep more practice. So... I decided to have a go at drilling a hole in each pendant and attaching a pinch bail. I am really happy with how they have turned out. What do you think? The holes aren't totally centered which makes the pendant hang slightly unevenly, but I think that adds to the charm.

The only trouble with this method is that it took me nearly two hours to drill one pendant... now I know that can't be right. I'm going to order some different types of drill bits and see if that helps... I hope so as I really want to start making these.

Have a great week everyone!
